We recently assisted a federal
medical records technician with his FERS disability claim. He suffers from several back-related conditions, including
lumbar spondyloarthritis, lumbar postlaminectomy syndrome, and myofascial pain syndrome. As a direct result of his debilitating symptoms, he is unable to ambulate without experiencing significant back and leg pain and is unable to sit for prolonged periods of time without experiencing severe lumbar pain. Therefore, even though his position is primarily sedentary, his inability to sit for prolonged periods prevents him from being able to perform the essential functions of his job on a consistent and timely basis. We worked closely with his physician to draft a compelling statement, and we’re delighted to report that this employee’s disability claim has been approved – congratulations!
