Last week I attended a wonderful seminar sponsored by WILG a Workers Compensation Attorney Group that focused solely on federal employees. At the seminar, an old friend, Dan Goodkin, presented a wonderful seminar in which he discussed the interplay between EEO, MSPB, OPM Disability, OWCP and other federal issues. The seminar was truly enjoyable for me. It is exactly the knowledge of this interplay between the diverse but often overlapping federal legal areas that I enjoy so much about my practice.

IMHO (In my humble opinion) A firm that provides services in all these areas or at least has a working knowledge and background in all these areas is able to truly provide its federal employee clients with the big picture. Decisions in these areas can often potentially lead to the difference between an employee obtaining a million dollar pension or losing everything. Without a deep or at the very least a working knowledge of these areas a federal employee attorney can truly do his clients a disservice. Over the next few blogs I will try to point out areas where I believe the interplay can have crucial consequences. Hopefully, these factual situations will educate the federal employee in the benefits of working with a firm like ours that aims to see the big picture in every situation while not overlooking the details of your individual case…
