Pines Federal helps AFGE Local 4060 settle grievance with FEMA: the Class Action Implementation Group (CAIG) will distribute the $16,500,000 settlement to eligible employees – past and present.

In March of 2018, American Federation of Government Employees 4060 (AFGE 4060) filed a grievance against Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on behalf of federal union employees. According to the grievance, FEMA violated the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Title 5 of United States Code by failing to pay overtime to more than 3,800 eligible FEMA employees.

Along with Snider and Associates, LLC, Pines Federal was proud to represent AFGE 4060 and its bargaining unit members throughout this grievance process. After 2 years of hard work, the firm is pleased to announce a $16,500,000 settlement benefitting the affected employees.

To help ensure each eligible employee receives the overtime wages they are due, AFGE 4060 and its attorneys have hired the Class Action Implementation Group (CAIG) to distribute settlement funds.

The process will take time, and over the next several months, employees who wish to participate in the settlement should provide their contact information to AFGE 4060 and/or CAIG.

You may register for the settlement at portal.caig.co/register/for/AFGE4060RE or email AFGE4060@CAIG.CO for assistance.
